cake hate

why can't all frontmen in hardcore bands be more like dan yemin of paint it black? seriously his stage presence is amazing and his vocals are so good. generally just wish more bands were like paint it black full stop really.
the show in kingston totally reaffirmed to me why i love hardcore music and why i love going to shows. i know it's kind of cliquéd in the last couple of years to moan about the state of hardcore, especially in the uk, but things are fucking picking up recently. last night was a prime example; a tiny packed venue and three awesome bands, with everyone just going nuts. totally worth the six hour round trip. i've been to many many average shows recently it was so refreshing to go to a truly amazing one. paint it black and trash talk both blew me away seriously.
on a slight tangent, there are also a load of really good uk hardcore/punk bands getting recognition which is cool. people seriously need to get behind bands such as deal with it, dirty money, more than life, fastpoint, cold ones and no dice to name but a few. people at shows not being fucking dickheads either is nice.

other highlights from last night were definitely; sweedish fish, museum geekout discussions and generally hanging out with awesome people. generally just more evenings like this one are needed.

back at college has been good as after the anti-climax of last year, it would appear that this year is going to be exactly what i wanted it to be. 100% journalism. stoked. so tired though. urgh.

need to get the new kings of leon record too. apparently it's incredible. i expected nothing less.
