Woke up mid-morning and received my presents from Apryl. She'd put a lot of thought in to what she got me and I was so happy with everything. One of the highlights was this awesome Obey shirt from the new Martha Cooper colab range:

She also bought The Hundreds 'pop art' shirt (featured a little further down this page) which is awesome and two books; 'Amerika' by Kafka, which is something I've wanted to read for a while and a book written by one of the people behind The Wire, set around the same homicide department of the Baltimore PD.
Apryl had also baked me an incredible vegan birthday cake; chocolate with buttercream/vegan cream cheese icing. It actually blew my mind how delicious it was. Pictures will follow soon!
After spending the rest of the morning/early afternoon lazing around the house and getting presents from my parents, we headed in to town to spend the Topman gift voucher I received (my mum knows the score) and then briefly met up with Steph and Wes who were also in town.
In the evening I’d planned to go for a meal at Wagamamas along with Apryl, Steph, Jack, Wes, Ams, Aaron, Smalls and Stan. Although Stan never made it due to traffic jams en route from Southend, it was really nice to see everyone else and hang out whilst enjoying the ever delicious food that Wagamamas has. I’ve changed my ‘usual’ dish in recent times and it’s currently Number 72, the Yasai Catsu Curry. I’ll probably revert back to (the only other thing I can eat on the menu) Number 51 in god time, but you know, variety is the spice of life and all that.
After sorting the nightmare that is splitting the bill when there are more than two people in your party, we headed to the Playhouse for a few drinks and then on to the Waterfront. Now anyone who knows me will know that I hardly ever go out on a Saturday evening, let alone to the Waterfront, but for some reason I felt like going and shockingly it was a fun time.
I hadn’t been to the Waterfront for anything other than a show for well over a year so maybe that’s partly responsible for my enjoyment of the evening. Maybe it was the fact most of my best friends were present. Maybe it was also the fact that I didn’t see anyone there who I dislike, which so often tended to happen when I used to go on a more regular basis. It’s probably a mixture of all three, but dancing to The Smiths, Metro Station and Kings of Leon among others equalled fun times last night and I’m pleased I decided to go. We even stayed until the end, something which none of us had planned to do. I probably won’t be going again any time soon mind.
On the way home we dropped off Steph and Jack and Steph gave me the vegan peanut butter and chocolate cookies she’d made for me. They, like Apryl’s cake, are incredible. Those two have got vegan baked goods nailed between them. Seriously. Sugar is life haha.
Today has been another unfathomably lazy day, but we’re heading out for a meal with my parents at Pizza Express soon and then Apryl is paying for us to see the new Star Trek film which I am beyond excited about. She’s got us gallery seats to which means popcorn and sprite on tap. Viva health.
