i don't see black or white i see grey...and that's the way it's gonna stay

so last night was the last ever volunteers show in norwich. it was a great show and definitely felt like the end of an era for me.

the volunteers are for me, one of, if not the, best local hardcore/punk band of the last decade. certainly since i've been in and around the hardcore and punk scene. i first saw them at the hearts record release show in 2004(?) and they totally blew me away. sounds corny, but when i saw them it totally inspired me to carry on making hardcore music. skudder were in the infancies of our time together and seeing a local band as good as the volunteers made me think that we could actually get somewhere making music. i'm not even sure if that makes sense, but you get the idea. anyway..the volunteers have been a staple of the local scene for years and having lost count of the amount of times i've seen them and also played shows with them in three different bands, i am genuinely going to miss them as a band. they're also all really good dudes.

last night was also good as i got to see people i haven't seen for ages and eat copious amounts of nando's.
