if i fall would you catch me?

recently i've been wondering about whether anyone actually reads this blog and if they don't, what's the point of writing it? not thinking about it in any especially deep way or anything, just thinking about my reasons behind wanting to document my life and pass comment on things that interest/annoy me, etc.

this stemmed from the fact that i myself read quite a few people's blogs. some are musicians (ryan adams and the cardinals blog being a highlight) but lots are just people who are my friends/i know vaguely. there is something about reading what other people think/are doing that is bizarely intriguing to me. is it just me that feels this? i have also been involved in conversations where people have mocked other people's blogs for a variety of reasons and it got me thinking of whether this happened with mine. is there someone(s) out there, riduculing me because i thought it was important to document the fact that i don't see why people think dead swans have sold out or that i like the new russian circles record a lot? i probabaly shouldn't care, and really if i think about it i don't, but it was a thought that i've maybe thought about a bit too much in the last couple of days. i know how bitchy people can be, especially within the 'hardcore scene'. if anyone does actually waste their time reading my ramblings i would genuinely like to know, even if you think the idea of posting my inner thoughts for the world and his wife to read is ridiculous and want to message me with snide comments.... i am almost certainly thinking about this too much.

i've been listening to the new ryan adams and the cardinals record a lot this week. oh man it's amazing. i wasn't sure what to expect from it if i'm being honest, but it's blown me away. do i overuse that term? it's made me even more excited to see him/them in november. it's definitely in my top three records of the year (yes, i have started to mentally compile my 'best records of 2008' list)along with the foals record and tegan and sara.
