In the morning, Polar Bear Club had to go and do a BBC Session for the Radio 1 Punk Show at Maida Vale so I got to hang out at the studio while they did that. It was amazing to be in the same building where so so many incredible bands and artists have recorded live sessions. Seriously think of a band and there's a good chance they recorded here! I mean c'mon, The Smiths recorded their John Peel sessions here for fuck sake! As you can imagine I was geeking out big time the entire duration of the session.
Jimmy had a phone interview with Mike Davies afterwards too and as part of the interview Mike asks the interviewee to pick three songs that he'd liked to have played on the show later. As a joke I'd previously said Jimmy should say Lonewolves, not thinking that he would, but you know what? He did it. Appaently Mike didn't have the MP3 of the song, but Jimmy sent it to him later on so hopefully we'll be getting played soon which rules.
After the session we drove to Camden for the show at the Underworld, which turned out to be the best show of tour so far, by far. Defeater played a really good set and then the room was pretty busy for PBC with lots of people singing along which was good to see. We also sold the most merch of tour so far and FINALLY sold some of the 12"s!
I also got to see Apryl as she'd got the train down to go to the show and hang out. It was so so so so good to see her as I've missed her so much the past week. Watching her leave at the end was pretty horrible though and now I miss her more than ever.
After the show, all the bands got food and hung out for a bit before driving to Nottingham. We found out Derek from Deafter doesn't like American Steel which all of PBC were bummed about, but he does have a Lawrence Arms and Alkaline Trio tattoo so I'll forgive him. I got a good sleep for the third night in a row and then we all went to get food at a Wetherspoons down the road from the flat we're staying at. We're off to the venue in a bit, then apparently there's a club night afterwards that should be fun, we'll see.
Here are a few pictures from yesterday...
