wonderwall

haven't posted anything for a while that isn't horribly introspective or that i've read the following morning and had to delete due to realising it was abad idea to post at 2am when overtired..

thursday was cloak/dagger in norwich, a show i'd been looking forward to for ages. the rest of the line-up was really good too; the computers, cutting class and holy state.

holy state are a new band of displaced norwich residents rob, victor and dan aswell as max. i was really impressed with them at this show and i've been listening to their myspace tracks loads recently. definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of hot snakes/fugazi esque bands.
cutting class were also good and i realised it was the first time i'd actually got to see them which is kind of weird in a way seeing as stu is one of my best friends and i guess they've been around for a while now. anyway, yeah...good band.

the computers were ok, although the contrived stage outfits reminded me of icarus line. the songs were ok, but the singer's voice did start to great after a while. plus i was more focussed on the dance off between stu and pete from cutting class to properly pay attention. apologies.

cloak/dagger totally lived up to all my expectations and played most of their back catalogue which was cool. the prescence of lots of old faces (seriously it was like being back in 2004 again, even down to stu doing the worm topless on the marquee floor) plus most of my best friends made this such a good night. afterwards, steph, apryl, jack, mike smith and i headed to steph's to hangout/drink tea/eat carrot cake. we also watched celebrity come done with me. it was atrocious. oh and no, i don't wish i'd gone to havanna's thanks.

last night was ryan adams at cambridge corn exchange. i'd been looking forward to this for so so long and seriously it was actually the best show i've been to this year. yes, better than morrissey at the roundhouse (morrissey was beginning to lose his voice by the end. it was still incredible though...) and they played pretty much a perfect setlist. the wonderwall cover was intense, and i actually nearly shed a tear during a couple of songs. whatever. it was actually amazing. i really wish i was seeing him again on this tour. shame about the lack of vinyl at the merch stand though..
