collapsing new buildings

listen to pennines. listen to algernon cadwallader. listen to this town needs guns.
repeat process.

this has been my musical listening today.

this afternoon i got a bunch of college stuff done that was on my to do list for the week, but after 3-4 straight hours staring at my laptop screen my brain felt it was going to melt or something equally as weird, so i decided to head out for a walk as the weather looked to have improved sufficiently. if you haven't been in norwich over the last couple of days, it has essentially changed from really heavy rain, to sunny and calm, to really windy, then back to rain again; seemingly every minute is different. this has gone on for a couple of days and it is really annoying. i love the seasons and what have you but not knowing what the weather is going to be doing literally from one minute to the next is frustrating in the extreme.

anyway as i said i headed out for a walk in one of the aforementoned sunny/calm phases of weather in order to clear my head and get some exercise as i hadn't really walked anywhere thus far in the day. i've been trying to walk to places as much as possible recently. partly for exercise reasons and partly because walking whilst listening to my ipod is, for me, one of the great joys of my day. there's something about walking along listening to music really loud that makes you feel almost invisible, as if no-one else can bother you. i find that i tend to get my best thinking done when i'm walking whilst listening to music, don't ask me why.

the walk did a good job of rejuvinating me and once i got home i made tea and settled down to watch the remainder of the coast season 2 dvd. i've mentioned on here before just how much i love this show, but it really is one of my favourite things on television. i learn so much from every episode and it's another example, to go with walking while listening to music, where it feels like i can be immersed in my own space for an hour. there's so much fascinating information contained within each hour long episode and i really think everyone should atleast watch one of them, purely to gain a greater understanding of how vibrant, interesting and intrigueing the british coastline is. there's so much cultural and geographiical heritage that very few people know about which is a shame considering that we live on an island and therefore by our very nature the sea plays a massive part in all our lives, directly or indirectly and whether we realise it or not.
