monday's are always traditionally the worst day of the week aren't they? the first day back to work/uni/college after the weekend is always a low point. it's even worse when your weekend has been amazingly good. today has been no different...
i pretty much hate mondays. well maybe hate is a bit strong, but it's the busiest day of the week for me, i have to be up the earliest in the morning and usually it means having to bid farewell to apryl for another few days until the following weekend which is horrible. having to get up at 7am rather than stay in bed and drink tea all morning is a tough choice to make and frankly i'm amazed that i manage to make it into college at all when forced to make this choice. i also have a full day of lectures/lessons which, today especially, was draining for a number of reasons (i may go into them when i'm less on the brink of falling asleep) and then i have more work to in the evening for the following day. in summary, monday's are fucking rubbish.
this evening i did head out to a local pub to see my good friend paddy perform his first ever stand up routine in norwich though. he was on first out of five acts at a regular comedy night that is run by a couple of guys under the moniker 'laugh out loud comedy night' (just me who thinks it's a bad name??) at a pub just down the road from me called the rose tavern.
anyway, the evening was good. paddy made some good jokes about the oppression of the black bear compared to the white bear and why comic relief is better than children in need. they don't sound like a especially funny topics to cover, but believe me, they were. i thought he did well, especially going on first for his first show and got some good laughs. the other two acts i saw had mixed success in my view. the second guy on was called david suede and was pretty funny. the third act wasn't that good, atleast he didn't make me laugh that much which is kind of the main point of comedy, but other people seemed to enjoy him. different strokes for different folks i guess.
anyway, i am way tired now and need to sleep. hopefully the rest of this week will be easier going than today.
the exploding hearts are so good. it saddens me when ever i remember that 3/4 of them died and at such a young age with so much potential in their music.
finally, there are more photos and a video from the house show on saturday coming very soon courtesy of apryl. check the lonewolves myspace if you care. i may upload it here too as i like to pimp my band out at every available opportunity.
