"i just love sport"

so the past couple of days have been pretty busy. well maybe not busy, but i've done things tht have taken up all my time.

apryl is back for the weekend from cambridge which is good as i miss her ridiculous amounts when she's away and i have spend the week here on my own. ANYWAY, after picking her up from the train station on friday tea-time, we got pizza express as i had one of their 'two-for-one' vouchers. nice meal, even the girl on the table behind us who was obviously coaching her friend through relationship trouble, "you've gotta, like, be strong babe!" didn't annoy me. it was just nce to actually get to spend time with apes.
after heading home and eating swedish glace and watching 30 rock (my new favourite american sitcom) we headed out to mustard for POW.

on route we met up with steph, jack, jack and a couple of others for a few drinks at the bell. yes that's the same bell that is one of the worst pubs in norwich. this is my opinion because; i have only been in the bell four times and have seen four fights. i, or someone in the group i have been with, have been started on on two of these occasions. these are not good stats. thankfully it was pretty quiet inside so we had a few drinks and chatted away. james came to meet us after finishing his dj set at mustard (10pm is way too early too be on, felt bad for him as apparently it was pretty dead) and then we headed up to POW.

it was the first time i'd been to this club night and i must say it was pretty good. they play a mix of electro, dance (the good kind, not the horrible sort they play in mercy) and indie. my friend boa was djing too and he was really good. all in all it was a good night and after stopping on the way home to buy food and for some reason discuss why the new series of skins is a let down and the reasons for veganism we got home about 2.30.

saturay i had to get up horribly early to go to birmingham to watch norwich play. the result would later mean that this was worth it. good journey up; we got to the ground just before 2pm. found seats, etc and attempted to predict what the result might be. i thought that we may sneak a draw if we were lucky. really lucky as birmingham are second and chasing automatic promotion

the match turned out to be a good one with both sides having some good chances to score. birmingham took the lead somewhat against the run of play and there were questions over whether the goal should have been dissallowed as the brum striker seemed to foul our 'keeper as the cross came in. it was a cruel blow as we'd had the better of the first half, but ten minutes into the second half we equalised through a brilliant sammy clingan free kick. cue pandimonium in the away ened.
the rest of the game proved to be a fairly open, even contest with both teams going close to scoring. not too sure why brian gunn chose not to make any substitutions as our entire forward line looked dead on their feet for the last ten minutes, but all things told the final score of 1-1 was probably a fair one. with all the other teams involved in the relegation battle either losing or drawing it was a valuable point for us that takes us just that little bit closer to achieving survival. it's just a shame that we have two weeks off now due to the international break as the whole team look full of confidence and it'd be nice to be able to take advantage of this current run of good form rather than having to twiddle our thumbs while the home nations play their world cup qualifiers.

the advert for the new film about pirate radio looks awful. an opinion reinfored by the fact that my dad, who wroked on various pirate radio stations for a number of years, said it looked ridiculous and fanciful. ha.

i am currently watching wigan vs hull, waiting for aston villa vs liverpool which will be a massive game after man utd slipped up against fulham yesterday. as you may or may not know, man utd are my 'second' team as all of my family back home support them so i hope liverpool fail to capitalise on this opportunity. i also hope that torres, agbonlahor, ashley young and dirk kyut all have good games and score as they are all in my fantasy football team and it's been an average weekend for my side so far haha.

all, set your goals have announced a tentative release for their new record of july 21st. so so so stoked. fingers crossed this means an autumn tour when i'm back from america.
