monday and tuesday i spent most of the daylight hours at the uea library doing work for the various projects/essays i have to do before i finish my course. these two days were both really productive and have succeeded in focussing me towards the goal of finishing and actually achievening a good grade. in a similar fashion to the first paragraph, this focussed attitude probably won't last long either. once can dream though.
monday evening saw the terrestrial debut of 'the wire' on bbc2 and with it my first foray into this programme. seeing as there were five seasons of the wire i know i am pretty behind with this, but already, three episodes in, i am totally hooked. i know a lot of people have called it "the best tv programme ever" and although this is a very bold statement, even at this early stage i can see why people would think that. it's still too early for me to make statements like that myself as i haven't fully become accustomed with the myriad of characters and plotlines, but so far it is amazing and i'm sure this will continue.
yesterday and today i have also rediscovered my love of aussie rules football. when i was last in australia visiting my uncle and aunty i first started watching this sport and found it really good to watch. it's a variation on football, with elements of rugby as well and is the most popular winter sport in australia and only second to cricket overall. like most sports the rules can be a little complicated to begin with, but essentially as long as you score more points than the opposition, you win.
it's all about the 'swans...

finally, last night, unbeknown to any of us, lonewolves were played by daniel p. carter on the radio 1 rock show. we are all pretty happy about this and i'd like to thank stan for passing our tracks on to dan in the first place. if you missed it (like we did!) or just wan to listen to it again go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/rockshow and click on the 'listen again' link. if you can't be bothered listening to the enitre show, we're on around the one hour six minute mark. enjoy...
